Visual Communication

Hii 
had visual communication today were we 
were going throught the things we are going to
do in the next 5 weeks.
Caire (Lecturer) showed us some things that we could do,
such as posters, cd covers, 3D items, paintings,magazine
spreads etc.
I was thinking of doing either a CD cover for maybe a game
or an album or single. Another option might be
that I make a magazine spread design. Still a little
unsure but I still got time to think what I can or cannot do.
Well I am relating my work to architecture, and thought
about the contrast between order and chaos.Nothing is perfect so I guess my current idea is to see
if I can use buildings and make 2 sides of a town. 
One half will be all perfect, in complete order, while the other
would end up being destroyed and dark. 
I had a hard time thinking on how I could put that onto paper
or using photoshop. 
However I used an image from google that showed a massive
blast and being all red due to its explosion. I edited some
building into it and got rid of trees or buildings I did not need.

Photography-editing

I just edited one of the pictures
I took in photography at college. 
Thought about the contrast between
some things, and thought about one
obvious theme of contrast, which is 
on my mind a lot. The contrast was
that of light and darkness.
It was an easy thing to think about as
I looked at light and darkness before
in Fine art when producing shadows with
the chess pieces. 
Also I guess hearing about light and darkness
in religion and culture is also common, 
therefore I guess the theme of contrast
is simple but can be understood differently
by people. 

 

Visual Studies and Photography

hi 

Was early at college as usual so was in the library
looking at books on fashion again. Found a book
on GIORGIO ARMANI, and thought that I take out
that book as it had some good pieces of clothing 
inside. 

Visual studies felt really long. We took a 
piece of paper and just made a random sculptor out
of it, and were than suppose to use brown white and 
black chawks to use light and shade. The paper we 
were drawing on was bigger than usual and was
light beige brown colour.
I did not finish the whole drawing, only the left side
of the drawing.  but when I looked at it from far
back, the colours were blending in good and was not
as bad like I thought it was lol .
Colin did say "what happened to the right side of the
drawing?" lol I did tell him the reason that I was 
concentrating too much on the one part that I lost the
track on time lol.

Photography was so much fun, We were looking at the
normal old cameras, which were so cool to see again.
 After we went throught the basics of the
manual camera, we had a look at the digital SLR camera.
Those were really cool as well.

We took some notes and than went outside,
were it already pitch black lol to take some
images of lights. 
Sabba and me shared a SLR camera, and went
all around to the front of the college and than
back to the back to take all sort of images.

It was dark and cold but we had a lot
of fun .

Art Foundation: Textile & Fashion

hi 

Today we had our new course fashion and textiles, which

I wanted to do anyway lol. We also have only 6 weeks

for this course, so it will go quiet quick .
I went to do some research on
the topic energy, as that was what was said on our brief.
It was hard to think on a topic like that because I wanna relate my
work to architecture and now it also has to relate to energy  .
I was getting frustrated so I was looking at architecture and the
different types of movement first. I looked at Gothic, modernism and
many others. Afterwards I had a look at energy, and what kind of
forms they have lol  taht I think was the only easy thing about energy.
Went to the library again to do some more work,
I stayed there for the whole time until class
ended. I did a lot of searching.
I was looking at some victorian style clothing, than started to search for aristrocrat
fashion.  Did not have any luck with that, so thought I use soem images of
Versailles (a band), as I like their type of clothing, and was thinking that I might be
able to get some ideas for the jacket I wanted to make.  
Still unsure though how I can make it and how I could relate it to energy as well
as architecture.  Also I am choosing if I am going to make the jacket for
woman or men, as I originally wanted to make it for woman .
Was on D&G as well as Armani website looking at the jackets and tops they had
so I could use them for my research  .
