Photography

Catherine (lecturer) showed us in the studio how to use the
soft and hard light to get certain effects, lol, like how one
can look like a vampire, gangster, godfather LOL with the hard
light shining on the face lol  .
Well I also learned how to produce a contact sheet of the images
I took, thought it would be hard to make it but it was so weasy, lol
it only took me a minute to do all 3 contact sheets .

Yesterday Catherine also told us that she wanted us to shoot from
perspectives like bird view and snake view lol (high and low perspective) .
It was fun, I tried to stand on a 20-25cm brick wall to take a couple of
images of the side lights. I did the same thing again only using the low
perspective to see if it would look massive or not. 
I was really having a lot of fun actually. J

Textiles was quiet fun today, I was trying to
make a sleeve as a test piece, which I did make
successfully, but than decided to make sketches of some
of the designs I was thinking about lol  ...
Well I think I appreciate all fashion designers a lot more
than I did before, as sewing and and producing a design
than making it so it all works is not easy at all  

I was looking at the images of Memento Mori, Versailles
and the other images I stuck into my sketchbook and came
up with a good mix of victorian and 21st century fashion .

Louise (lecturer) was aksing me where the theme energy
would link into my work, so I told her how I was looking at
the pattern engery gives off, so the easiest, and I thought
interesting patterns are that of lightening. 
It always gives a different pattern and so gives a lot of variety.
So she introduced to me free hand embroidery, I told her I used
the embroidery ring to stitch a rose, and therefore she thought
it was a good idea to try the free hand embroidery.  
I used spare black cotton piece of cloth that Louise found, so I was
using the machine to create the embroidery 

I was going to use gold thread for the embroidery but they did not
have any at college, nor did I get a chance to by it. Instead I just
used a yellow that had a little shine on it.
Textiles lesson finished so quickly, lol, I kind of did not want it to end
was having a lot of fun .

Textile

Hi, 

Yesterday I was out with my mum, getting the materials for 
textiles . I decided I am going to make a jacket, therefore I 
have the materials now, so I am able to think of a design much better now.
LOL I have many ideas in my head, just have not got the chance to
put them onto paper  

Well here are the materials that I got yesterday from the store 
  

Currently I am thinking of making a black jacket that has some bright
colours mixed with it. As our work has to link into ENERGY, I thought about
the embroidery to be related to energy. By that I mean the shapes and
patterns that different energy forms have, or release. 

Well today I have been doing by sketch book work, sticking everything down
and writing about it.  Well I have to write a lot in it yet actually lol
