Art Foundation: Digital Apps

helloo,

to let you know I am feeling a lot better today still am coughing ,
but am able to concentrate on work now atleast.
This morning at college I had ICT, with Jackie our lecturer.
The lesson is a little boring as we just learn how to use Adobe Photoshop
for our work, so we can make it look interesting and so on.
Well having had that lesson I took my time to enjoy myself feeling a little
better, unlike my friend Zulfikar who seemed to be getting worse, poor him.

I have not written yet about my Digital Application lessons. Well in them
we are creating a ZINE (a personal agenda, somethign that makes sense to you,
has a message, but does not have to make to everyone else). Anyhow I am concentrating
on Architecture and Visaul Kei. Both are things that I like a lot, and Architecture is
something that I wanna study at University.
I really only came up with the idea of showing how those two opposite ends are not so
different as everyone might tink, by my own emotions when I create something. I normally
listen to music on my ipod and come up with ideas, and most of the time its artist like
the GazettE, HYDE, Gackt, Merry well the list is endless
I was listening to TAION ages abck and wanted to know how the GazettE came up with
this song. I than learned about the girl that was kidnapped raped and done even more disturbing
things to, that the vocalist RUKI at the age of 6 had heard about. Apparently the whole band always went emotional when performing that song. Visual Kei shows emotion in both music and appearance and that same link I drew out to say that ARCHITECTURE AND VISUAL KEI are the same!!

I elaborated on that and made a mood board (size A1) with images and drawing of my
favourite buildings and Visual Kei Artists ... I wrote down the connections
between them and how they even link back to society and every human being.

I wrote down in my sketchbook Visual Kei and Architecture in Japanese, therefore
I used those images to manipulate them together with images of artist. I ended up with
a rough design of my ZINE.
I did not use any filters in Adobe Photoshop CS5, I craeted the effects myself by using brightness and contrast and trying to overlap the images to see what colours will appear when
changing it to MULTIPLY for example.

This is the image of the DRAFT ZINE:

I used different colours on purpose to make it stand out, and the colours also can be seen as emotions of people/artist etc.
